Situated on the Linc Centre wall sits 4 portraits which were unveiled in the summer. These are the faces of Aaron Williams, Heather Peirce, Senie Emmanuel and Helal Ahmed. These inspirational figures were voted as “community heroes” by the Bow residents due to the extraordinary work that they have done around Tower Hamlets.

Peter Harrold works at Poplar HARCA as an Electrical Team Manager. Born and bred in East London, he is a HARCA legend as he is one of the few remaining staff members who has worked at HARCA since December 1999, a year after the organisation was born. He has also worked in Tower Hamlets for an amazing 42 years. Due to his lengthy service, Peter knows “every nook and cranny of the properties” but most importantly, he has witnessed the growth and development of HARCA.

Brian, owner of EastEnders Pie ‘n’ Mash, is responsible for the stunning new mural on the south side of Chrisp Street Market. The colourful artwork pays tribute to the rich history of the market and the surrounding area, and was designed and painted by artist the Agwa from Bud Studio.

Over 160 people attended Poplar Fashion Week from 29th July – 1st August, which hosted free fashion-based workshops, classes and discussions in venues across Poplar.
