Poplar Works, an innovative new home for East London’s fashion economy was officially opened on 27th February 2020 by London’s Deputy Mayor for Culture and the Creative Industries, Justine Simons OBE, who met with the building's first resident creatives, before inaugurating the project.

EastEnders Pie ‘n’ Mash pays homage to Poplar with a new Chrisp Street mural

Brian, owner of EastEnders Pie ‘n’ Mash, is responsible for the stunning new mural on the south side of Chrisp Street Market. The colourful artwork pays tribute to the rich history of the market and the surrounding area, and was designed and painted by artist the Agwa from Bud Studio.

Residents vote to regenerate Teviot

On an 81% turnout, 86% of voters have backed proposals for regenerating the Teviot Estate, Poplar with 1,800–2,450 new homes, new green and play spaces, shops, community and faith facilities, and improved infrastructure.
